Chewing mastic takes some practice. Here are some tips on how to get the most out of chewing.

Pistacia lentiscus tree resin is characterised by its relatively high hardness, but at the same time by its brittleness to tear. The individual drops can vary in size, hardness and shape. It is a 100% natural product that is washed only with water and dried in the sun.

The instructions for chewing the resin may seem like science at first, but you too can become an expert user and will undoubtedly love this resin.

Before you start chewing, it is advisable to drink clear water. This is to ensure that your mouth is not dry and that the mastic binds better when chewing. Choose a hard enough piece from the pack and chew it between your front teeth until it forms a hard mass. (If you started chewing the ointment immediately on your back teeth, it would stick to your teeth and you would not be able to chew the gum-like substance).
You can then chew it like classic gum all over your mouth. If the chew is too hard for you, add a softer piece or masticated gum. With long-term chewing, you can easily combine different crystals depending on their hardness. The first time you chew, the mastic should crumble into small pieces. If it sticks too hard, add a harder piece. If all the mastic crystals have become soft, the mastic has probably been left too long in the heat (this happens especially at high temperatures in summer). Put it in the refrigerator for a few hours. It will regain its desired structure.

Another option for learning to chew properly is much easier for a beginner. Simply put a drop of mastic in your mouth and chew it like a candy. The fondant will absorb the saliva from your mouth until it has completely softened, after which you can start chewing.

For the mastic to have a positive effect on your digestive tract, chew it for at least 15-20 minutes. Of course, you can chew it for much longer. But don’t overdo it in the beginning so that you don’t get muscle aches :-). After chewing the resin, spit it out, there is no point in swallowing it, all the beneficial substances have already entered your digestive tract through your saliva and your stomach will not be able to digest the resin in this form.

Warning:

Do not give to children under 6 years of age. Do not exceed the indicated daily dose. Not intended to replace a varied diet. Keep out of reach of children!

The mastic is difficult to chew, so if you have a dental problem (especially periodontitis), use caution when chewing or consult your dentist about chewing mastic.

Although no side effects of Mastic have been identified, we recommend that pregnant women consult with their doctor about the appropriateness of using Mastic during pregnancy.

In rare cases, mastic products can cause problems for people with resin allergies. In this case, we recommend that you consider using it.

Storage:

Store in a dry place at temperatures up to 25 ° C in a closed container.
